井上　雅彦（いのうえ　まさひこ）Masahiko Inoue

　小説家。1960年、東京生れ。1983年、星新一ショートショートコンテスト優秀作受賞をきっかけに作家デビュー。受賞作「よけいなものが」を収録した第一短編集『異形博覧会』で注目される。21世紀の幻想と怪奇を創作テーマに、『夜会吸血鬼作品集』、『四角い魔術師』などの短篇集（ショートショートを多く含む）、『夜の欧羅巴』などのダークファンタジー、『ファーブル君の妖精図鑑』などの幻想ミステリなど、さまざまなジャンルに渡って、ファンタスティックな作品を執筆。短篇小説の復権を目指して自ら企画・創刊したオリジナル・アンソロジー叢書《異形コレクション》の監修で、1998年に第19回・日本ＳＦ大賞特別賞を受賞。同シリーズは2022年12月に最新刊の第54巻を刊行し、現在も継続中。

Masahiko Inoue was born in Tokyo in 1960. He made his debut as a novelist in 1983 when he won the Shin’ichi Hoshi Short Shorts Contest. He has written works in a variety of genres, including horror, mystery, fantasy and fantastic stories set in the 21st century. In 1998, he won the 19th Japan Science Fiction Grand Prize Special Award for the anthology series Igyō korekushon (Heteromorphic Stories Collection), which he planned, edited, and launched with the aim of restoring the short story genre. The series comprises a total of 54 volumes to date. His work and interviews have also appeared in the Georgia Institute of Technology web magazine HIVEMIND: Global Speculative Fiction.
