小谷 真理Mari Kotani
SF&ファンタジー評論家。著書『女性状無意識』(勁草書房、1994年)で第15回日本SF大賞受賞、共訳書ダナ・ハラウェイ他『サイボーグ・フェミニズム』(トレヴィル、1991年)で第二回日本翻訳大賞思想部門受賞。日本経済新聞木曜夕刊「目利きのおすすめ」でSFとファンタジー欄を担当。フェミニズム批評によるポップカルチャー分析で知られるプロの評論家だが、高校時代よりSFファンダムで活動する熱心なSFファンであり、2021年柴野拓美・日本SFファンダム賞を受賞。F&HF Fan Club「ローラリアス」及び、ジェンダーSF研究会会員。後者では2001年より年間ジェンダーSFベストを選出するセンス・オブ・ジェンダー賞をプロモート。1997年に自らも誹謗中傷を受けて裁判に発展した体験から、女性の物書きが受ける様々な嫌がらせを分析・理論化したジョアナ・ラス『テクスチュアル・ハラスメント』(インスクリプト)を邦訳し、自らの裁判を「テクハラ裁判」と位置付ける。日本SF作家クラブ初代副会長(1999-2001)。日本ペンクラブ女性作家委員会委員長(2003-2011)。
Mari Kotani is a SF and Fantasy critic, who served as vice president of the SFWJ and as chair of the Women Writers Committee of Japan PEN Club, which has promoted the movement of anti-textual harassment. Her first book Joseijō muishiki: tekunogainēshisu, josei SF ron josetsu (Techno-Gynesis: The Political Unconscious of Feminist Science Fiction), published by Keiso, won both the 15th Japan SF Grand Prize and the Seiun Award in 1994. Being an active member of The Japanese Association of Gender Fantasy and Science Fiction, she helped found The Sense of Gender Award as the Japanese equivalent of the Tiptree Award. She is one of the first generation of Japanese involved in cosplay and YAOI culture.
