大森　望（おおもり　のぞみ）Nozomi Ohmori

書評家、翻訳家、ＳＦアンソロジスト。「ゲンロン大森望ＳＦ創作講座」主任講師。1961年、高知県高知市生まれ。京都大学文学部卒業。新潮社勤務を経て1991年からフリー。責任編集の『NOVA 書き下ろし日本SFコレクション』全10巻で第34回日本SF大賞特別賞、第45回星雲賞自由部門受賞。日下三蔵と共編の『年刊日本SF傑作選』全12巻で第40回日本SF大賞特別賞。著書に『20世紀SF1000』『新編 SF翻訳講座』『50代からのアイドル入門』『現代SF観光局』『狂乱西葛西日記20世紀remix』等。北上次郎との共著に『読むのが怖い！』シリーズ、豊崎由美との共著に『文学賞メッタ斬り！』シリーズ他、三村美衣との共著に『ライトノベル☆めった斬り！』がある。訳書にコニー・ウィリス『航路』『ドゥームズデイ・ブック』『クロストーク』、バリントン・Ｊ・ベイリー『時間衝突』『カエアンの聖衣』、フィリップ・K・ディック『ザップ・ガン』『銀河の壺なおし』、オルダス・ハクスリー『すばらしい新世界』他多数。監修に『カート・ヴォネガット全短篇』、共訳書に劉慈欣『三体』シリーズ、『円』『流浪地球』『老神介護』等。

Nozomi Ohmori is a book reviewer, translator, and SF anthologist. He was born in Kochi, in 1961. He graduated from Kyoto University’s faculty of Letters. After working for Shinchosha, he became freelance in 1991. He won the Special Award at the 34th Japan SF Grand Prize and the 45th Seiun Award (free category) for the 10 volumes of NOVA kakioroshi nihon SF korekushon (NOVA: A Collection of Original Japanese Science Fiction). He also won the Special Prize at the 40th Japan SF Grand Prize for the 12 volumes of Nenkan nihon SF kessakusen (Annual Collection of Japanese SF Masterpieces), which he co-edited with Sanzo Kusaka. His works include 20 seiki SF 1000 (1000 SF Works from the 20th Century), Shinhen SF honyaku kōza (SF Translation Course, New Edition), 50 dai kara no aidoru nyūmon (A Latecomer Introduction to Idols), Gendai SF kankōkyoku (The Contemporary SF Tourist Bureau), and Kyōran nishikasai nikki 20 seiki remix (Frenzy Nishikasai Diary: 20th Century Remix). He co-authored the Yomu no ga kowai! (Afraid to Read!) series with Jiro Kitagami, the Bungakushō metta kiri! (Let’s Hack Literature Prizes to Pieces!) series with Yumi Toyozaki, and the Raito noberu metta kiri (Let’s Hack the Light Novels to Pieces) series with Mii Mimura. He translated Connie Willis’s Passage, Doomsday Book, and Crosstalk; Barrington J. Bailey’s Collision with Chronus and The Garments of Caean, Philip K. Dick ‘s The Zap Gun and Galactic Pot-Healer, Aldous Huxley’s Brave New World, among many others. He has supervised Kāto Vonegatto zentanpen (The Complete Collection of Short Stories by Kurt Vonnegut), and co-translated Cixin Liu’s Remembrance of Earth’s Past trilogy, “The Circle,” and “The Wandering Earth,” among others.
