霜島 ケイKei Shimojima
大阪生まれ。1990年『出てこい！ユーレイ三兄弟』（朝日ソノラマ）でデビュー。主にファンタジー、ホラーのジャンルで活動。『封殺鬼』シリーズ（小学館）、『カラクリ荘の異人たち』シリーズ（ソフトバンククリエイティブ）等、鬼や妖怪をモチーフにした著書、アンソロジー多数。現在は「霜島けい」名義で『九十九字ふしぎ屋商い中』シリーズ、『あやかし同心』シリーズ（ともに光文社）等、時代小説も執筆。
自他ともに認める猫好きで、二匹の猫と同居中。
ペンネームの「霜島」はたいてい「霧島」に間違われます。
Kei Shimojima was born in Osaka. He made his debut in 1990 with Dete koi! Yūrei san kyodai (Come on Out! The Three Ghost Brothers), published by Asahi sonorama in 1990. He mainly writes fantasy and horror stories. Many of his books and anthologies revolve around the motif of demons and ghosts, such as the Fūsatsuki (The Repressed Demons) series, published by Shogakukan; and the Karakurisō no ijin tachi (The Aliens from the Mechanical Manor) series, published by Softbank Creative. He is also writing historical novels such as the Kyūjūkyūji fushigiya akinaichū (The Strange Store 99 Is Up and Running) series and the Ayakashi dōshin (The Ayakashi Constable) series, both published by Kobunsha. He loves cats and lives with two of them. The characters of his pen name “Shimojima” are often misread as “Kirishima.”
