新井 素子Motoko Arai
１９６０年東京都練馬区出身。１９７７年、第一回奇想天外ＳＦ新人賞に「あたしの中の……」で佳作入選、デビュー。（『あたしの中の……』集英社コバルト文庫）８１年「グリーン・レクイエム」、８２年「ネプチューン」で星雲賞受賞。（『グリーン・レクイエム』講談社文庫、「ネプチューン」は『今はもういないあたしへ……』ハヤカワ文庫に収録。）９９年『チグリスとユーフラテス』で第二十回日本ＳＦ大賞受賞。（『チグリスとユーフラテス』集英社文庫）。近著に『南海ちゃんの新しいお仕事』（角川春樹事務所）、『絶対猫から動かない』（角川文庫）、『この橋をわたって』（新潮文庫）、『ゆっくり十まで』（角川文庫）などがある。
Motoko Arai was born in 1960 in Tokyo. She made his debut in 1977 with “Atashi no Naka no… (Inside Myself),” which was selected for the 1st Kisotengai SF New Writer Award and was later published in Shueisha’s Cobalt collection. She won the Seiun Award in 1981, with Gurīn rekuiemu (Green Requiem) and in 1982, with “Nepuchūn (Neptune).” She also won the 20th Japan SF Grand Prize for Chigurisu to yūfuratesu (Tigris and Euphrates), published by Shueisha bunko. Her recent works include Minami-chan no atarashii shigoto (Minami’s New Work), published by Kadokawa haruki jimusho, Zettai neko kara ugokanai (Never Move Away from the Cat), published by Kadokawa bunko, Kono hashi o wataru (I Will Cross this Bridge), published by Shincho bunko, and Yukkuri jū made (Slowly to Ten), published by Kadokawa bunko.
