白井　弓子（しらい　ゆみこ）Yumiko Shirai

漫画家。1967年生まれ、愛媛県出身大阪在住。
10代から同人誌即売会を中心にSFファンタジーマンガを発表。
2007年に同人誌で発表した伝記ファンタジーマンガ『天顕祭』が第11回文化庁メディア芸術祭マンガ部門にて奨励賞を受賞。単行本化される。
その後月刊コミックIKKIでSFミリタリーマンガ『WOMBSウームズ』を連載し、完結後第37回日本SF大賞を受賞する。
他に『ラフナス』『イワとニキの新婚旅行』『大阪環状結界都市』および「WOMBSウームズ」の前日譚に当たる『WOMBS CRADLEウームズ・クレイドル』などの作品がある。

Yumiko Shirai is a manga artist who was born in Ehime, in 1967. She is currently living in Osaka. She has been releasing SF and fantasy-oriented manga since her teenage years, mainly through self-publishing conventions such as COMITIA. In 2007, she won the Encouragement Prize in the manga category of the 11th Japan Media Arts Festival with Tenken, which was then published by Sanctuary Publishing. Starting from 2009, she serialized the military SF manga WOMBS in Shogakukan’s monthly magazine Ikki and won the 37th Japan SF Grand Prize. Her other works include Rafunasu (Rafunas), Iwa to niki no shinkon ryokō (Iwa and Niki’s Honeymoon), Ōsaka kanjō kekkai toshi (Osaka Circular Barrier City), and the prequel to WOMBS, WOMBS CRADLE.
